Tanja joined the JustJobs Network as a Project Manager for a research project on global value chains, which aimes to explore links between economic and social upgrading in manufacturing firms in Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam. Her work entails managing the cooperation with the partnering research institutes and working on the scientific underpinnings of the project.
Trained in development and agricultural economics, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tübingen, and a Master’s degree from the University of Göttingen in Germany. She studied two semesters on exchange at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she focussed on econometrics, international trade, and French. During her studies, she also worked as a research assistant in banking and in agricultural economics, and supported exchange students in organizing their semesters abroad.
Before joining JustJobs, she also engaged in projects on food value chain development and rural finance with GIZ (the German Development Cooperation Agency in India) and with a women’s production group in Benin, West Africa.
Tanja has volunteered in outreach work for reproductive health, and in global learning activities, both of which nurtured her passion for cross-cutting gender issues. She speaks German and French.
