Zoom Webinar
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted lives and livelihoods worldwide. Among those affected are service providers and sellers that rely on digitally mediated platforms to connect them to consumers. But the pandemic’s impact has, and will for some time to come, vary across different kinds of gig work. Social distancing norms, for instance, will have a greater impact on location-based gig work than cloud-based freelance work, or other forms of gig work that allow individuals to work from home.
Against this backdrop of the differential impacts of COVID-19 on gig workers, how have and will women gig workers/sellers fare? This webinar will bring the voices of some women entrepreneurs that have leveraged platforms to build their livelihoods to the forefront. Participants will hear how women gig-workers, platforms and experts assess the current and future impact of the pandemic on gig work.
