Small businesses are the building blocks of all economies. They give expression to the productive and innovative potential of entrepreneurs and constitute over 90 percent of enterprises in most countries. The creation, destruction, and in-between trajectories of small businesses have a significant effect on employment and the dynamism of economies.
The JustJobs Network works with GIZ, to examine the typology of micro, small and medium enterprises, especially in the informal sector of developing countries. The findings and recommendations of the paper aim to support small businesses for job creation with a particular focus on Sub- Saharan Africa.
